What is laser skin rejuvenation?

Laser skin rejuvenation (SR) is the most popular treatment performed in our clinic. Also known as skin photorejuvenation, it is a non-ablative treatment - meaning it does not damage the outer layer of skin - that works simultaneously by stimulating collagen production in the deeper layers and gently lessening signs of aging on the surface.

The laser selectively delivers amplified pulses of light to the deeper layers of the skin. The new collagen produced helps erase fine lines, smoothen wrinkles, and gives facial skin a more youthful and glowing texture.

Laser SR is virtually painless and needs no anaesthetic. It is safer, with almost zero risk of burns, and requires no recovery time - you can have it done over a lunch hour and return to work immediately. Any mild redness is transient.

The procedure

After washing your face with our cleanser, the doctor selects settings appropriate to your skin type and the area being treated - our experience has enabled us to calibrate a unique setting that produces the best results with minimal downtime.

The doctor hovers the handpiece over the areas to be treated and delivers fine light beams with great precision - even the smallest areas such as the upper eyelids can be treated. You may feel a slight tingling, if anything at all.

Each session takes approximately 30 minutes. There is no special post-treatment regimen; we simply recommend a daily sunblock with adequate UVA and UVB protection. For best results, a series of five sessions spaced about four weeks apart is recommended.
